Rates is a per day rate and not a 24 hour rental period
Discount will be given for a late arrival and early departure
If payments are made from overseas, please include the transfer costs etc.
Use Of Vehicle
Vehicles are rented for use as per the original request
Vehicles may not be used for motorsport or high-risk activities
May not be used in areas where a risk of civil unrest or political disturbance are
Proper precaution must be take to ensure the safety and the security of the vehicle
Drivers License
The minimum age for drivers is 23
Drivers must be in possession of a valid unendorsed license
An international drivers license is required for non-South African citizens, or the license must be in English
If vehicle is used for the conveyance of paying passengers, then the driver must have a valid PDP (Professional Drivers Permit)
Tour operators must make sure that the driver guides used by them are in possession of a valid PDP (Company can be held responsible for any claims as a result of this)
If the vehicle can seat 12 and more passengers, then the driver must have a valid PDP
Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection are free for hire periods longer than five days and within a 50km radius
R250-00 delivery and R250-00 collection fee if hired period is shorter than five days – Cape Town
R350-00 delivery and R350-00 collection fee if hired period is shorter than five days – Gauteng
One way fees are applicable for areas outside Cape Town and Pretoria
Fuel
Renter/client will receive vehicle with a full tank of fuel
Vehicle must be refuelled on return
Client is liable for the cost of refuelling
A penalty of R100-00 is payable should vehicle be returned not refuelled

Insurance
Insurance is included in the daily rate
The renter/client carries the risk of damage while the vehicle is in their possession
The renter/client is responsible for the insurance excess of R4500-00 or the full amount if damage is less than the excess determined by our preferred service provides
The renter/client is responsible for the insurance excess of R7500-00 in the event of any claim resulting from vehicle theft.
A claim handling fee of R450-00 will be charged to the renter/client
All damages will be repaired by Rumadani or our insurance-approved service providers
If our insurers reject a claim, then the renter/client is responsible for any damages or claims
Super Cover Insurance
This cover exempts the renter/client from any excess
Only for rental periods longer than 14 days at extra cost
Windscreen / Glass
Excess of R1000-00 is payable for any windscreen or glass damage
Exclusions on Insurance
A result of driver negligence
Driving under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances
If traffic, road and driving regulations are not adhered to
Where accidents are not reported according to the underneath procedures
If the vehicle is taken beyond the SA borders without a cross-border permit
If the vehicle is driven on a road surface not suitable for the vehicle type
Mechanical damage due to abuse or driver error
Tyres, rims and hubcaps
Water damage
Under-carriage damage
Lost, stolen or misplaced personal belongings
Procedures in the Event of an Accident
Obtain the names and addresses of everyone involved and possible witnesses
Report all incidents, big or small, to the police within 24 hours and supply Rumadani Transfers and Tours with an accident case number
Notify Rumadani Transfers and Tours within 3 hours of the occurrence
Completing the necessary insurance claim forms
Co-operating with Rumadani Transfer and Tours and its insurers with any investigations
Passenger Liability Insurance
Passenger liability insurance of R50 million included (R5 million for sedans)
Passenger liability is only valid if the driver/guide is in possession of a valid PDP
Cross Border Rentals
Vehicles need a cross-border permit to cross the border to neighbouring countries
A detailed itinerary is needed to apply for the cross-border permit
Cross-border permits are only valid for 14 days
The cost for the cross-border permit is for the renter/client’s account
Additional Equipment
Baby seats – R 150.00 per rental per seat (no booster seats available)
Second spare wheel – R 250.00 (Vito & Quantums only)
GPS – R 85.00 per day
Additional Charges
Valet charge – R 250.00 (If vehicles are excessively dirty)
Lost keys – the cost of keys plus R 100.00 administration fee
Claim administration fee – R 450.00
Fines and penalties are for the renter/client’s account
